Questions – Lesson 4

In these 10 lessons you will learn about different questions types. The first 5 lessons cover WH questions. They are called WH questions because they include the letters W & H. Here is lesson #4. Read the information below and then answer the questions.

Why: Why is used to ask the reason for something.

Example: Why did you do that?

Why don’t you…? / Why not…?: These are both used to make a suggestion.

Examples: a) Why don’t I help you? b) Why not come with us?

Why not?: Why not is used to agree with something that someone has suggested.

Example: Why don’t we have a drink? Yeah, why not?
