Coronation Street

 

Coronation Street is a British TV program. It is known by many people in Britain as Corrie! It is kind of comedy-drama known as a soap opera. It was first shown on 9 December 1960, and on 17 September 2010 it became the longest running TV soap opera in the world. It is still one of the most popular TV shows in Britain. It has also been shown in other counties around the world including, Australia, Canada, America, Belgium, Ireland, New Zealand, and Sweden.

 

The program is about people who live on Coronation Street. This street is in a fictional town called Weatherfield, Manchester. The program shows the lives of people who live on the street. There are scenes in people’s houses, a cafe, a corner shop, and a factory which makes clothes. Many of the scenes are set in the Rovers Return. This is the name of the pub on Coronation Street, and in this pub is where much of the fun and drama happens. In recent years ITV, the company which makes Coronation Street, offers a behind the scene tour. If you are ever visiting Manchester, why don’t you take a tour?
