Spaghetti Bolognese is one of the most popular pasta dishes around the world, but do you know where it comes from? It originated in Bologna which is a city in Northern Italy. If you have eaten Spaghetti Bolognese, you will know the sauce is a meat-based sauce. The word Bolognese means people from Bologna, but it also means a ground beef, tomato, onion, and herbs sauce. This is known as ragù in Italian.  A good Bolognese sauce is usually served on thick pasta because the sauce sticks to thicker pasta easily. Some people add fresh Parmesan cheese to their Spaghetti Bolognese, and others prefer the flavor of the sauce.
